Hey friends! I am so excited for another hop with the A Cherry on Top Design Team! This month we are playing with some type of texture paste, mousse or glaze!
I used the Vicki Boutin Let’s Wander collection and an one of her stencils! I pulled out her CreativeFX Prism glaze and spread it through the stencil. This stuff is so creamy and so fun to work with! It has a beautiful color and sheen to it!
I fussy cut some florals from the Sunshine and Smiles paper which is one of my favorites! I created a vertical design and I just love how it turned out! Working with the glaze and stencil is so much fun! I love the texture and interest it gives to my layout!

Today I am sharing a new layout on the A Cherry on Top Crafts blog! I used the Paige Evans Go The Scenic Route collection to create my layout and a cut file that I had in my stash of cut files.
I wanted to challenge myself to use a bright colored background and one with a little bit of pattern! One thing that helps me is using just one collection. I know that everything is going to coordinate so that part is already done for me. Since titles are another one of my struggles using a big title cut file is always a go to starting point for me.
I really love how this page turned out and the blue background really helps this layout pop! The Go The Scenic Route collection is so full of color and can be used for so many different projects! It is definitely a must have collection! You can check out the collection HERE in the A Cherry on Top shop! Hey friends! I am so excited to share my first layout using the Doodlebug Designs Night Before Christmas collection.
I used a large title cut file from my friend Lacey Ann Designs Etsy shop as my starting point for my layout! She is having a great sale right now and her cut files are as low as $0.79! I love the font and wide border of this cut file. It makes it easy and quick to back with pretty papers. I used papers from the Night Before Christmas 6×6 paper pad and some from one of the Doodlebug Design petite prints. I wanted to pull in some of the soft pink color in the collection.
I added a few mini icon stickers around my photos and one of the banners in the Night Before Christmas chit chat pieces. When using a big title piece like the cut file I also like to add die cuts and stickers around the cut file.
The little mice were perfect to add around my page! To finish off the page I trimmed down my white base to 11.50×11.50 and matted it on the beautiful Snow Magical pattern paper from Night Before Christmas. I used my We R Memory Keepers typewriter to type out my journaling and cut into strips to add to the bottom of my page. Head on over to the Doodlebug Design Blog to see my completed page using the new Night Before Christmas collection.
Hey friends! Today I am up on the Doodlebug Design Blog with my very first layout using the fun new Ghost Town collection!
I created my own cut file in the Silhouette Design Studio so that I could back it with papers from the Ghost Town 6×6 paper pad. I really wanted a big title piece that stood out on the page. Liam recently received a Jake Skellington stuffed animal and he absolutely loves him! He takes him everywhere and the Nightmare Before Christmas is on repeat in our house!
I wanted to create a simple layout using mostly black and white since Jack is dressed in black and white. I added a pop of orange just to have some color but I love how it turned out!!
The doodle pops in this collection are adorable and the Loads of Fun pop just had to go on this layout! To see the full layout head on over to the Doodlebug blog to check it out! Thanks so much for stopping by today! To see the Ghost Town collection head on over to A Cherry on Top to see the full collection!

You should have arrived from Laura’s blog but if you need to start the hop from the beginning you can CLICK HERE! A Cherry on Top is giving away a $10.00 gift certificate to the shop to one randomly selected person who comments along the hop! For my project today I am using some new Catherine Pooler Designs Fall Pick-N-Mix products along with a cut file from A Cut to You!
I started by cutting out the feathers cut file from A Cut To You. I used some American Crafts textured white cardstock for both the cut files and my background. I used papers from the new Catherine Pooler Designs 6×6 Fall Pick-N-Mix paper pack to back my feathers. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the backing pieces for each of my feathers to speed up my process.
I knew I wanted to add some splatters to my background so I pulled out some Catherine Pooler inks and some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide sprays. I also pulled in some gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine from my stash to add a bit of gold to my layout. I love to add touches of gold to my fall layouts! I sprinkled color to my background and once it was dry I started to adhere my feathers. Some of the feathers I decided to leave open so that you could see some of the pretty splatters! I really wanted the colors to stand out in this layout so I kept the embellishments simple and love how it turned out! I also used the new Catherine Pooler Hey Pumpkin stamps and dies to create some pumpkins to embellish around my photo.
Catherine Pooler Designs products are not just for cardmakers! They work wonderfully to create scrapbook pages too! I really love using the 6×6 paper packs to back my cut files and love that the prints are just the right size! To finish off my layout I wanted a title in gold so I used a pretty gold word Thicker from the 5th & Monaco collection. I added in some enamel dots for some extra texture and my layout was complete! I love this photo of our little Liam Jay! I took him out for his 2 year photo session and we had fun running around the trails! Here is a look at my completed layout!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my layout today and the products I used. Your next stop along the hop is Natalie! Remember to leave comments along the way for a chance to win a $10.00 gift certificate to the A Cherry on Top Shop!
Hey friends I am super excited to share my first layout using the new Simple Stories Bro & Co collection available now at A Cherry on Top!
I recently took some photos of Liam wearing his Here Comes Trouble t-shirt and I thought this collection would be perfect! I used a fun cut file from Cut To You. They have a boys section in their shop if you are looking for cut files to use on masculine projects. I backed the file with different papers from the collection kit. I love the fun colors and the pops of black in this collection.
The black and white checkered paper is one of my favorites in this collection and I think it helps bring out the black and white in his shirt! I added some foam adhesive to the back of the cut file to pop it up from the background. To add some interest to my background I took my Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in the color Speckled Egg and applied to an acrylic block. I added some water to the block and mixed it up with my paint brush. I used some scrap plastic packaging and picked up the color and smooshed it onto the background. I also used the paint brush to add some splatters too. I love the color peeking out from behind the cut file and think it adds interest to the page.
Instead of adding my photos on top of my cut file I decided to add them behind a few of the stars but keeping them in the square shape. I love how they turned out! I used the awesome Bro & Co foam stickers for my title and embellished a few of the circles on the cut file.
To finish up my layout I used some of the checkered pattern paper that I love at the top and bottom of the page. Here is a look at my completed layout using the new Simple Stories Bro & Co collection.

Hey friends! I shared this layout on the Doodlebug Design Blog this week and wanted to share it here on my blog as well!
I used the new Party Time collection and some of the new stand alone stamps and dies! I started out by die cutting some tags using the doodle cuts large tags and the Party Time 6×6 paper pad. I love that this set comes with the hole reinforcers! I used a piece of white cardstock as my background and trimmed it down to about 11.25×11.25. I distressed the edges a bit with my scissors and then used some Catherine Pooler Designs ink in the color It’s A Boy to add some color to the background. This was the perfect color to go along with the blue in this collection.
I pulled out a few of the new doodle stamps to add a few little images around the background. I used occasions-everyday, all occasion and happy birthday! I stamped the images out in the same It’s A Boy ink color and love the look!
I arranged the tags on my layout and popped them all up on some foam adhesive. To add some texture to the layout I added some doodle twine to some of the tags.
I backed my photos with some papers from the 6×6 Party Time paper pad and used chit chat pieces and stickers to embellish around the page. I matted the layout on the Party Time 12×12 pattern paper. Head on over to the Doodlebug Design Blog to see the finished layout HERE!

Hey friends! Erica here with you today to share my first project with you as a Design Team member for Fancy Pants Designs. I hope you find inspiration in what I share with you. For my first project I am using the A Cherry on Top collection from Fancy Pants Designs and a cut file from my good friend Lacey Ann Designs. You can grab this free cut file HERE on Lacey’s blog! I thought this cut file would be perfect with this collection and my photo.
I cut the file out on some white textured cardstock. I used the A Cherry on Top 6×8 paper pad to back the cut file. Once my cut file was backed I added foam squares all over the back of the cut file to add some dimension to my layout. I also like to make sure the cut file is popped up so I can tuck things in around the file.
I took this photo recently of my new favorite sundae from the ice cream shop that just opened up in town! Turtle Cheesecake Sundae! It is seriously so yummy. I matted the photo on the pretty pink floral paper from the Cherry on Top collection and tucked it in to the right side of the cut file. I added a strip of pattern paper from the collection pack to the top and bottom of my layout to help frame the page. I used some floral die cuts to embellish around my page and that super cute cherry from the A Cherry on Top chipboard.
To finish off my layout I added some of the A Cherry on Top Puffy Dots around the page and added a little bit of journaling. I typed it out on my We R Memory Keepers typewriter and cut it out into strips using my paper trimmer. Here is a look at my completed layout using the A Cherry on Top collection.

A CHERRY ON TOP
I will be giving away a Simple Stories Prize Pack with includes the Sunshine and Blue Skies collectors essential kit with tote!!
We are all creating with 6×6 or 6×8 paper pads today! I love using the smaller paper pads I always reach for them and pick the smaller pads over 12×12 papers! I love using cut files and the smaller paper size works best for me. I love that the images are scaled down and can be seen when backing cut files! Today I am using the Simple Stories Hip Hop Hooray that you can pick up at A Cherry on Top! I know I can’t be the only one still documenting my Easter photos from this year!
I used a cut file from Cut to You and cut it out on some white American Crafts Textured Cardstock. I backed it with different papers from the Simple Stories Hip Hop Hooray collection. I love the colors and images in this collection.
For my background I also used a piece of white textured cardstock from American Crafts. I wanted to add some color using my Catherine Pooler Inks so I pulled out colors that I thought matched best! Eucalyptus, Skylight, Shea Butter, Party Dress and Rose Petals. I used the packaging technique to add color and also added some splatters!
I love the way the color looks behind the cutfile! The Catherine Pooler inks are fabulous for this technique but also stamp out amazing! You can find all the ink colors and more at A Cherry on Top!
I used the Hip Hop Hooray die cuts, brads and journal bits to embellish my layout. This all came together pretty quickly once my cutfile was backed. I love how it turned out! Here is a look at my completed layout!
